Need to Wirelessly Transmit Videos? Welcome the Vaxis 500+

VAXIS STORM 500 Ft + Review

Filmmaking is becoming ever so popular with the advancements in technology, so R&D teams are
finding new ways to improve current systems. With TVCs, feature film production, news and current
affairs, the need for wireless transmission systems that are both affordable and even more-so
RELIABLE, come in to play. This is why we have the new Vaxis Stom 500+, because we have found
that its reliability is quite high, and the price isn’t.

The Vaxis Storm 500 Ft+ SDI and HDMI Wireless transmitter is one such model available on the
market and is able to record and transmit live videos. Given that it is relatively much cheaper than all
the other options currently being offered (while giving excellent results at the same time) it is a very
good model to consider adding to your film production kit.

I’ve had issues with the transmission of signals previously and I want a system that has no delay, is
this possible?

The Vaxis boasts a Zero Delay Transmission.

Yep, you heard that correctly! One of the best things
about this version is that it is able to send uncompressed HD video signals via SDI and HDMI with
zero/negligible delay time. It is able to transmit and receive 525i, 625i, 720p, and 1080p signals over
distances greater than 500 ft. For you and I, that is actually up to
200m!!

The older model had antennas that would break, the new one
also look a little different, why is that?
The transmitter and the receiver of the model feature antennae,
which resemble propellers of a normal drone model, also knowns
as samurai blades. The specific anatomy of the antennae is such
that the dBi loss from reflections is mitigated to great extents. This
is because polarization of signals does not get altered when they
reflect off surfaces. Moreover, the ceramic plates inside the
system increase the signal strength, thus reducing the need for
signal amplification. Also, these antennae are user friendly such
that they are very flexible and easily bendable, thus reducing
chances of breakage. The older system had a pivoting bracket
whereas the new one has a flexible gooseneck. The unit is also has
new LED screens, more robust build and easier control.

What frequencies does the system run off?

The STORM’s systems operate on frequencies ranging from 5.1- 5.9 GHz. Its software can be
configured such that the band frequency may be altered, so that the same system can be used to
work in multiple different regions. Also, STORM has FCC approval and can be used in almost all parts
of the world.

It looks good, but is it easy to use?
At the front of the transmitter and the receiver, one finds user-friendly control panels, with OLED
screens and channel adjustment buttons. You can choose up to 10 workable frequency channels,
and can also see indicators for temperature, receiver RSSI, video status and wireless power, etc.
Having all of the main features present in one place, and being clearly indicated, users find the
functionality of the model very convenient, and easy to use.
Whether you’re a beginner or maybe you have advanced skill. The Vaxis Storm has everything that
you can ever need. And it is the COMPLETE KIT.
