With the exciting release of the RED Komodo earlier this month, the cameras are making their way to Australia.
The KOMODO is a completely different camera from the DSMC2 series of cameras, and with the help from 3rd party accessories, it becomes a tiny yet POWERFUL camera.

Here’s a list of accessories we would recommend ordering, to make your new Komodo a beast.
Monitor
Yes the Komodo has a monitor built into the camera, however you will need to have one thats bigger if you’re needing to pull critical focus or framing up your shot.
SmallHD have released a great monitor, which comes with the control cable for the Komodo, so you can scroll through the menus using the touch screen, just like you would on the RED Touch on the DSMC2 Systems.

This kit comes with a Focus Pro Monitor, Camera Control for RED® KOMODO™ (software license), and a KOMODO Control Cable (5-pin to 9-pin Connector). Now you have a Monitor, you will also need a hinge. There are 2 great options from SmallHD and Wooden Camera!
The Wooden Camera option allows you to detach the monitor quickly using an Arca swiss quick release, meaning you can pack it down easier!

WOODEN CAMERA MONITOR HINGE KIT (RED KOMODO, ARCA SWISS)
Monitor Hinge Kit (RED® KOMODO™) features a Top Mount that attaches to the camera body using two captive 1/4-20 screws and provides a center ARCA Swiss dovetail clamping slot along with 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 threaded holes for attaching accessories.
Batteries:
No way around it, you need batteries.
The Komodo takes dual Canon BP batteries, hot-swappable, and lasts quite a bit of time (with the Canon BP-975).
Core SWX have come out with an adapter plate to use V-Lock batteries, and our Lightpro Fxlion Nano one and Nano Two batteries would be perfect for this!
